BIM marketing results: Solarlux’s first year on BIMobject
See how Solarlux used BIMobject to increase downloads, reach architects, and build early project engagement within its first year on the platform.
What does it take for a specialist manufacturer to land in front of the right architects, designers, and engineers at the moment a project is taking shape? For Spacesaver, that meant uploading nearly 100 Revit models to BIMobject and using download data to guide more targeted outreach to potential customers. In this 4-minute read, Megan Skinkis, Business Development Manager at Spacesaver, shares how the team uses BIMobject as a core part of their BIM content marketing strategy, and why it keeps delivering year over year.

Speaker: Megan Skinkis, Business Development Manager, Spacesaver
Please introduce yourself and your company.
My name is Megan Skinkis. I'm the Business Development Manager here at Spacesaver. Spacesaver is a manufacturer of tailored space-saving solutions that help optimize space utilization and workflows. We serve a variety of different verticals including education, military, public safety, museum, healthcare, and library — just to name a few.
What led to the decision to join BIMobject?
Working with and creating partnerships with the AEC community is so important here at Spacesaver. We want to offer those valuable resources. Having our Revit models available on BIMobject.com allows this audience the opportunity to learn more about and then specify our products within their projects. BIM is a platform that they trust and frequently use, so it is a great place for our Revit models to be housed and in front of that audience.
How would you describe your experience with the platform?
Overall, BIMobject is one of our favorite platforms to leverage. BIM continues to innovate and update their offerings and interface to help manufacturers reach and engage with the AEC community. I joke about it all the time, but I feel like every time I log into BIM, a new feature has been added that we can leverage to either generate more leads, learn about targets, or help expand our reach. A fantastic platform to have in our portfolio.
How has BIMobject supported your efforts to connect with design professionals more effectively?
The download data we receive from BIMobject gives us a really compelling reason to reach out to AEC professionals and offer support — and, more importantly, offer value. We reach out because we truly want to offer assistance and resources for the project they may be working on. We've found that this consultative approach starts meaningful conversations, and it's an effective way to learn about projects and put our team in early to help drive those projects. We've also found that firms downloading our Revit models can in turn be great targets for our catalog of continuing education courses — excellent ways to educate AEC professionals and firms and establish ourselves as a valued partner they can trust along the way.
How has your team used BIMobject's tools to connect with new audiences?
We leverage both the Promote and email campaign features in the BIMobject platform, and they really help us expand our reach in the AEC community. What we want to do is build awareness of the products we offer. Having the ability to email out to those undiscovered audiences is most impactful — it gives us the opportunity to educate on the resources and products we can offer.
How do you measure success with BIMobject?
In coordination with our CRM, we track the number of leads generated from Revit model downloads on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. We also track the number of opportunities we are able to convert under the BIM lead source, and we understand the total revenue generated from BIM opportunities on a monthly and yearly basis as well.
What impact has BIMobject had on your company since joining?
We have continued to see a fantastic amount of growth on the BIMobject platform — in terms of reach, in terms of the number of leads generated, and in terms of opportunities we are able to convert. We've also continued to adjust our process surrounding how we reach out to the leads we generate from this platform. Having the ability to be agile and adjust that process when we see different trends has helped us achieve that growth.
What does having BIMobject as a partner mean to you?
BIMobject is an important and valuable resource for us. It allows us to directly engage with a very vital audience — the AEC community. A big thanks to everyone on the BIM team, and the processes we have in place have really been a key driver as to why we have seen increased success year over year.
What has been your experience with the BIMobject team?
Our account managers at BIMobject have been very knowledgeable. They share best practices that work with the other manufacturers they work with. They always make sure we are aware of big launches on the platform and provide insight into how to leverage those in the most effective way for our book of business. I also really appreciate that, at times, they've brought us into conversations with their R&D team to find out our needs and ensure the updates and enhancements they make on the platform meet the needs of users. That is a great advantage.
Where can we find your products and BIM models?
You can find Spacesaver's Revit models a few ways. We are on BIMobject.com, of course — look for Spacesaver Corporation. You can go to our products page, where we have nearly 100 models built and ready to use, along with great documentation including sustainability information. For more information about our products, visit spacesaver.com — it gives a great overview of our products, our markets, and highlights some of the installs we are very proud of. Under the Design tab, you'll also find our Revit models, which link back to BIMobject.com. Feel free to check us out any time.

Spacesaver needed more than a place to host Revit families. They needed a marketing channel, one that their target audience already trusts and uses every day.
BIMobject provided the right combination of visibility, discoverability, and distribution of BIM-ready product content. By publishing on the platform, Spacesaver put their models exactly where buying decisions get made.

Today, Spacesaver Corporation's brand page on bimobject.com hosts nearly 100 ready-to-use Revit models, alongside product documentation and sustainability information that supports specifiers throughout the design process.

The single biggest unlock for Spacesaver has been the download data flowing back from BIMobject. Each download is a signal, a real AEC professional, working on a real project, evaluating products that fit Spacesaver's catalog.
The team uses that signal to lead with value, not a pitch.

That consultative approach starts conversations earlier in the project timeline, lets Spacesaver's team get involved before key decisions are locked in, and feeds a second engagement engine: continuing education. Firms that download Revit models become natural targets for Spacesaver's CE courses, a proven way to establish the brand as a long-term, trusted partner in the AEC community.
Beyond organic discovery, Spacesaver leans on two BIMobject features to grow brand awareness with audiences they haven't reached yet:
The ability to email out to those undiscovered audiences is most impactful — it gives us the opportunity to educate on the resources and the products that we can offer.

For a brand serving niche verticals, the ability to reach beyond an existing customer list is what turns BIMobject from a content library into a true demand generation channel.
Spacesaver runs BIMobject the way a marketing team runs any performance channel: with clear metrics, a CRM-linked lead source, and accountability all the way to revenue.
In coordination with their CRM, the team tracks:
That visibility is what makes BIMobject defensible within the business, and it's what's let Spacesaver iterate on its outreach process as it spots new trends

Spacesaver's account managers at BIMobject act as an extension of the marketing team, sharing best practices learned from other manufacturers, flagging new platform features, and bringing customer feedback directly into BIMobject's R&D conversations.

For Spacesaver, that pace of innovation, combined with hands-on support, is what keeps BIMobject at the center of their AEC engagement strategy year after year.

Book a demo →Manufacturers publish Revit and other BIM files on bimobject.com so architects, designers, and engineers can discover and specify their products inside the workflows they already use. Beyond hosting content, BIMobject provides lead data, promotion tools, and email campaigns that turn product content into a measurable marketing channel, exactly how Spacesaver leverages the platform today.
Spacesaver receives download data from BIMobject identifying which AEC firms are downloading their Revit models. The team then reaches out with a consultative, value-first approach, offering project support and resources rather than a sales pitch, and uses those firms as targets for continuing education courses that build long-term trust.
Spacesaver uses Promoted Products and email campaigns inside BIMobject to put their products in front of undiscovered audiences in the AEC community. These tools help the brand build awareness with firms that aren't yet aware of Spacesaver's space-saving solutions.
In coordination with their CRM, Spacesaver tracks leads generated from Revit downloads, opportunities converted under the BIM lead source, and total revenue generated from BIM opportunities, on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. This makes BIMobject a fully accountable channel inside the business.
Architects increasingly start projects in BIM, and they specify products that show up where they design. Hosting Revit models on a trusted platform like BIMobject puts manufacturers in front of high-intent specifiers early in the project lifecycle, the moment that has the biggest impact on whether a product gets selected.
