An imported block brings geometry from another format (CAD, SolidWorks, etc.) into your BIM software without rebuilding it. It's a static shape — it can't flex to different sizes, it doesn't host correctly in walls, and it contains no product data. A parametric BIM family is built natively in the target platform — it has rules, parameters, and data built in, so it behaves correctly in any design environment and supports the full specification process.
